The Super Nintendo World has been in existence at Universal Studios Japan's theme park for almost three years. It's basically a park within a park that revolves entirely around Super Mario and Co. The first expansion of this park is now in the starting blocks and visitors will soon be able to explore the new Donkey Kong area.

A firstNintendo had already released it about a year ago. Among other things, this also offers the. The new park area is now almost finished and the grand opening will take place on December 11th.
In keeping with this, Nintendo has released a new video in which Mario and Donkey Kong inventor Shigeru Miyamoto himself introduces the new area.

Visitors come from the Mario area to the new Donkey Kong world through a tunnel.The classic blocks become angular rocks and you're in the middle of the jungle of the popular gorilla.
This is what the new area offers:The area includes Donkey Kong's tree house, a rhythm game for up to three players and a large, golden temple. This is also where the roller coaster starts, which is the area's main attraction. But only a short excerpt can be seen.
On top of that, there are snacks inspired by the game hero such as a banana dessert, Funky Kong's Fly 'n' Buy, where of course lots of souvenirs can be purchased, and hidden letters that can be collected using a bracelet. Last but not least, there is also a person walking around in a Donkey Kong costume with whom you can take souvenir photos.

Since February 2023 there has also been a Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios in Hollywood. A Super Nintendo World is scheduled to open in the park in Orlando next year. This will also include the Donkey Kong area.
