We played Donkey Kong Bananza on Switch 2 and just broken everything

Donkey Kong is back. So not only in Donkey Kong Returns, but also on Switch 2 with a brand new game.

It has been a long time since the good Donkey made riot in a new 3D game-most recently this was the case on the N64. On July 17th there will befinally supplies exclusively for them.

After the knocking looked quite exciting during the showcases, we were able to lend a hand in Paris and get a small impression of how the new adventure of the Oberaffe is playing.

So lief das Switch 2-Event:Tobi played several switch 2 games on site and compiled all important information for you. We have prepared his impressions back fresh from Paris for you and give you the first switch details to come to coming Switch 2-Exclusives.

Chaotic clopping with a lot of fresh wind, but ...

One thing is certain: Donkey Kong Bananza throws the concept of the series somewhat over the heapAnd brings a lot of fresh wind. In the two partial sections, a mine and an open area, it was about collecting golden bananas and arranging as much destruction as possible.

And almost everything in the world was broken. Cover stones out of rock walls and hurl on opponents or surf them on them and dig in: If you just want to organize a real monkey theater, you seem to be right here.

However, the whole thing could also be a little confusing, precisely because the camera was very close to the chaotic. The control, on the other hand, felt very directly.

Although the game principle is generally fun, the spark did not want to (yet) quite skip in the allusion session, but this should also be due to the small extent of the demo.

The title seems to rely on great playful freedom in the interactive levels, which has simply not yet completely developed in the short season.

Tobi's impressions briefly summarized

Shortly before his return trip, Tobi summarized his first impression of the game in key points for you. You can read them here again:

  • Is a completely different game than before Donkey Games, rather big “freshness factor”.
  • Two areas were playable: a kind of mine and a section in the open air.
  • General goal: to break as much as possible and find golden bananas
  • Side tasks (e.g. beating three stone giants at a certain time) can be picked up partly from NPCs.
  • You can clink almost everything in the levels.
  • The control is like atvery direct
  • Everywhere in the levels there are gold lumps, with which golden bananas can be bought.
  • You can hit up or down and literally dig into, which is very cool, but can also accidentally pass in the heat of the battle.
  • Donkey can tear rocks out of walls and throw them on opponents or hang them on them, and climb up almost everywhere.
  • Some materials cannot simply be broken, but require harder rock that you have to search for and then throw it against it.
  • Due to the many “beating opportunities”, there seem to be quite a few playful freedom, but these have not really developed to me in the short play -time time, because:
  • In general, the whole game looks very chaotic and also confusing in places because the camera is very close to the action - too close.
  • Has already made you in a mood, but it was still more of a growing impression, at least in the first time it was a bit undermined.

So after this careful first conclusion we can be excited to see whether Donkey Kong Bananza will also take full length.

Now you are asked: How does the fresh game concept sound for you and what wishes or what hopes do you have a big appearance on the Switch 2 for Donkey Kongs?
