Clair obscur expedition 33: With these 8 settings you get a much sharper picture and the general best gaming experience

We'll tell you how to get a sharper picture of what you need to know about the difficulty settings and more.

is a very independent RPG, in which you travel a dark world and masters fights that are generally round -based, but rely very strongly on real -time elements. The QuickTime events that you have to contest with your attacks to fully exhaust them can be automated.

We not only tell you where you can find this option, but also give you tips on the graphics settings, sound and more by the hand.

Level of difficulty

  • Our recommendation:Discoverer
  • To be found at:Game options> game

"Discover" is the middle of three levels of difficulty and we found it very balanced. Except for the end game, it is even more forgiving and does not force you to complete side tasks or to optimize your equipment completely.

Graphics

  • Our recommendation:Performance
  • To be found at:Graphics> General

In 60 FPS mode, the gaming experience felt quite well for us, except for a few rare burglaries here and there (especially in cutscenes). On the other hand, we found the 30 FPS mode to be a little less pleasant, which we noticed both when moving through the level and in the very timing-based fights. Here the game benefits from the additional pictures. Even motion blur could not hide it over there.

Movement blur

  • Our recommendation:Out of
  • To be found at:Graphics> post -processing effects

Movement blur can serve to hide small uncleanliness at the frame rate, but it can also lead to nausea in some people. But not only for the latter reason we would advise against activation. The option also simply leads to a wash overall impression and the deactivation, like the following settings, ensures a much sharper image in all situations.

In general, we liked the image quality much better than we turned on all the effects under "post -processing effects", as we broke more closely below.

Film grain

  • Our recommendation:Out of
  • To be found at:Graphics> post -processing effects

The film grain is supposed to contribute to the cinematic mood, but it simply ensures that the image is washed out. Be sure to switch it off immediately!

Chromatic aberration

  • Our recommendation:Out of
  • To be found at:Graphics> post -processing effects

We are happy to advise you from the chromatic aberration and so in this case. The visual effect simulates color fringes or fringes on object ranges that can occur on real camera lenses or lenses. This should ensure more realism, but can lead to unclean edges. We therefore deactivated them.

Vignette

  • Our recommendation:Out of
  • To be found at:Graphics> post -processing effects

The vignette is also supposed to ensure a filmmaker look, but in our opinion it does not contribute to the atmosphere, but rather disturbs. From it!

Music volume

  • Our recommendation:40%
  • To be found at:Sound

The music is very dominant in Clair obscur, but also extremely loud in the mix. After a short time, we have reduced the volume to just 40% and still found it rather loud. Of course, the exact value that you choose also depends on your sound edition and your personal taste. However, 100% is likely to be most too loud.

Camerazing

  • Our recommendation:Out of
  • To be found at:Barrier -free> camera

Camerage shapers are also one of the effects that developers like to use to increase immersion, but we categorically switch it off because we find it annoying, because it can even lead to nausea. In our opinion, it does not contribute to the mood.

Additional optional tips

brightness

  • Our recommendation:1,3
  • To be found at:Graphics> Graphics

Some areas were on our TV screens, especially caves in the game very dark, which is why we had to increase the brightness in the course in order to be able to correctly recognize the animations of the opponents in quicktime events. Whether you are the same, or how far you have to adapt, but of course depends heavily on your TV, your habits and the brightness of your gig corner.

Automatic QTE

  • Our recommendation:From, only if necessary
  • To be found at:Barrier -free> fights

The combat system was extremely enthusiastic about our synergy from round -based approach and real -time elements. We therefore generally recommend that you have the quicktime events switched on.

But if you want to avoid a little stress, you can automate them. However, this does not apply to the parades or avoiding opposing attacks, which is even more challenging because you know the attack patterns and have to read independently. If this is too difficult for you or you have any restrictions, you only have the option of switching to the easy fashion.
