As of today, the first players can break down to Eora and inExperience a great adventure as envoys. In order for this to work, we have put together the following tips for you, which should help you to start your journey well prepared.
1. Attention is worth it, free exploration is rather not
Already at the start of the game and on the tutorial island, it is very worth being always attentive and keeping your eyes left and right. Small secrets, such as chests or back bags, often hide on the edge of the path.
You should always empty them, since it not only heals all sorts of consumption such as food for healing, but also valuable crafting materials. You can find out why they are particularly important in the next point.
To recognize hiding places, you should always look up and down, because you can often achieve projections or discover a lot in the water. By the way, if there is a secret nearby, you can hear a shimmering tone that gets louder as soon as you approach the goal.
However, what we less recommend is the free exploration of the individual areas - at least not at the beginning. If you not only want to follow the main story and also complete side quests, you automatically come to most places. So look before leaving the area, whether undiscovered spots can still be seen on the map, you avoid visiting many landmarks twice.
2. Crafting is extremely important
You need the above materials to improve your weapons and armor - and this is essential in avowed. Even if you regularly climb in the level and strengthen your attributes and unlock powerful perks, your equipment makes a bear's share of your power.
Therefore, always look that the equipment that you actively use are always highly tapped. There are 4 steps with 3 upgrades each on normal objects. Unique objects can even reach a fifth stage and also unlock powerful perks.
The improvements can be carried out in the warehouse on the workbench and the materials used for the respective levels are linked to your area progress. We find the raw materials for the first stage, for example in the first area, for the second stage in the second. Materials can also be upgraded, but also disassembled. In this way, level 1 raw materials can become a little level 2 raw materials, or vice versa.
Normal items can be upgraded in four stages.
3. does not ignore the ranged combat
Avowed quickly gives you an ax at the start of the game and plays really fun in close combat, especially in 1 vs. 1 duels. However, if many opponents knock on you, the overview goes quickly and then the very powerful long -range weapons come into play.
There are some of them, starting with the bow, to magic rods to powder guns. If you don't use one of them as a main weapon anyway, you should equip one as a second weapon. From a distance, enemy groups can be eliminated extremely well, especially in combination with captivating or aggro-binding skills of our company.
4. Buy Dietriche - on every occasion
The chests placed in the world are closed every now and then. In this case you need Dietriche to get to the prey. However, these are consumed when used and sometimes we need several to crack a lock. It has therefore often happened to us that we stood in front of a glittering chest and could not open them.
Dietriche have various dealers and even a few coins. However, they are never in stock. Therefore, you should take every opportunity to buy Dietriche.
5. Always have a book of the elements with a wand in their luggage
Even if you do not use spells, it is worth always having a magic book of the elements with a wand in your pocket. With the magic contained therein, we can solve the elementary puzzles placed in the world.
In some places we can get generators up and running when we throw a flash magic on it, elsewhere we can activate switches with fire. This also works with bombs that match the element, but why use befall objects if we can just make the Harry Potter briefly?
6. You can freeze water to overcome obstacles
Speaking of spells and bombs: a detail that we noticed quite late has to do with actually insurmountable obstacles. Rymrgand's eye, a grenade that we get from a very icy plant or ice magic not only freeze opponents, but also water.
The resulting ice islands can pave the way for us over before or actually not accessible.
We cannot jump that far and we can't pull ourselves up from the water.
7. Inconspicuous NPCs can also have tasks for you
Usually NPCs that have a quest for us are clearly marked with an exclamation mark on the map. However, you shouldn't rely on it alone if you don't want to miss anything, because characters without marking often often have small tasks or exciting information for us.
So it is worth speaking all NPCs at least once and see what they have to tell. There are also all kinds of information in books and notes that we can later use in conversations. The small side stories in particular are very well written and are fine in the entire WorldBuilding.
These were already our seven tips for starting the game and we hope that they will make it easier for you to start in Avowed and your adventure in the Living Lands.
If you also have tips in stock, you will be happy to write us and the community in the comments! Otherwise we wish you a lot of fun with the new role -playing game from Obsidian!
