Assassin's Creed Shadows: Attention, one of the game modes removed romances and takes you an ally - you have to pay attention to that

If you want to experience the official version of the AC Shadows story, Naoe remains alone.

offers a completely new mode for the series: canon mode. If you choose it, you no longer have to make decisions. Instead, the game itself determines how Naoe and Yasuke behave in certain situations. This is cool for everyone who wants to experience the "official" version of history, but also brings with it a few restrictions.

The canon mode of AC Shadows limits romances and allies

Basically, the canon mode simply ensures that you no longer have to or cannot choose dialog options in conversations. Instead, the cutscenes simply continue with an automatically selected answer. But that also means that you cannot influence certain elements of the game.

Specifically, the Youtuber Jorraptor reports that you cannot experience most of the romances in the game. There is apparently no "official" romance for Naoe or Yasuke.

You can read about the options for the two in normal mode:

So if the two have the option of flirting with another character, they simply never choose them in canon mode. The X account ofPlayStation Game Sizeconfirms again in the comments that all romances are actually affected.

Even if you are less interested in flirting, you could at least make a further restriction of canon mode. You also lose one of your potential allies.

Normal meadow you can recruit all allies in one run so that they are at your side in the fight, among other things. In the course of the story, however, you also make certain decisions that influence these companions and their bond with you.

And you can already imagine: The canon mode makes a decision for you through which you automatically lose one of these characters as an ally, or do not even recruit it. Jorraptor does not reveal exactly which one is.

An interesting detail in canon mode is that many of these missed chances of playing will not even notice you. After all, the decisions that Naoe and Yasuke automatically make here will not be displayed. Of course, everyone has to decide whether this is a blessing or a curse. At least the trophies and achievements are not affected.

How do you feel about these restrictions in canon mode? Would you accept them for the "official" story experience, or then you would rather take the reins every now and then?
