The Witcher is getting another adaptation on Netflix. Now you can see the first trailer for “The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep”.
While CD Projekt RED is now working on the new part The Witcher IV on a large scale, there is also a lot happening around the fantasy franchise on the streaming service Netflix. The live-action series will return there with a fourth season, but with the protagonist Geralt being recast by Liam Hemsworth (instead of Henry Cavill). Before that happens, however, there is a different implementation to be seen from the streaming giant.
We're talking about the animated film "The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep", which will be shown on Netflix very soon. The broadcast will therefore take place on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 and therefore in less than a month. You can now get your first impressions of the film in advance, as Netflix released a trailer today, which you can watch below.
"The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep" adapts one of the best short stories from the Witcher universe, namely "A Little Sacrifice". The witcher Geralt finds himself in the middle of a conflict between humans and merpeople, the underwater kingdom. A mysterious force is trying to drive the two sides into war in the background and only Geralt, Jaskier and Essi can stop this dark plan.
Like the previous animated film "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf", this new adaptation also comes from Studio Mir. The animated film tries to build a bridge between the looks of the game and the main Netflix series. Geralt is again voiced by Doug Cockle, while Jaskier and Yennefer are given the voices of the actors from the live-action series in the animated film, namely Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra.
