Well, that's what ... Craig Alexander, one of the creators of Lord of the Rings online, wants to make a role -playing game from The Wheel of Time. That could be exciting.
The fantasy book series The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan is extremely popular and is considered one of the most influential works of modern fantasy. With a total of 14 main volumes and a prequel, she has created a deep and multi -layered world that inspires many readers. And the Amazon series adaptation is also very popular. Of course, it makes sense to use the popularity and also develop a video game.
This is exactly what is obviously happening and a not entirely unknown name has taken care of the matter, namely Craig Alexander, Studio Lead of Lord of the Rings online at the time. According to a press release, Alexander takes the project as Studio Lead at the newly founded Iwot Studios in Montreal under his wing and no small rolls, because it should indeed be an AAA role-playing game.
Alexander used to work in Turbine, i.e. the LOTRO developers and alive also in the development of Dungeons & Dragons Online and Game of Thrones: Conquest.
"To develop a game that the brand The Wheel of Time does justice, we needed the right moment, the right boss and the right place," said Rick Selvage, CEO from Iwot. "Craig brings the leadership qualities, the vision and the experience we need, and Montreal has the creative minds to implement the whole. We are sure that this team will offer the fans something very special."
There is still no details about the game itself, except that "everything that is in the books and the whole background should also take into account. The studio assumes a three -year development period, which suggests a possible release in 2028. Since it is the first project from Iwot Studios, there is probably some optimism.
