Krafton has announced comprehensive plans for PUBG: Battlegrounds 2025 as part of a roadmap. There are technical improvements, new content and more.
The Battle Royale permanent burner PUBG: Battlegrounds should remain one, which is why Krafton has planned some innovations for the title in the young year 2025. As part of a comprehensive roadmap, the plans for the online action game have now been specified. The focus is on new content, improvements in the live service aspect, technical innovations to ensure and more.
At the end of the year, PUBG: Battlegrounds should finally be switched to the consoles of the current generation, i.e. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. This should result in "significant improvements in terms of performance, FPS, card charging speed and general graphic quality". In addition, the changeover to the more modern unreal engine 5 is also prepared.
Another point in terms of longevity is the PUBG UGC Project. The term "user-generated content" hides behind the abbreviation, which means that users should be able to create and share their own gaming experiences. It starts with a TDM-like game mode in the Custom Matches.
As for the live service aspect, you want to ensure a more uniform experience for normal matches, ranking games and e-sports. Key elements from the normal games should flow into ranking games and reduce the gap between the modes.
There will also be a revision of the ranks, as will an update of the gunplay, which enjoys the top priority. There should be regular balance updates over the course of the year, with adjustments to the weapon meta to be made every two months. An annual, large -scale rebalancing is also planned. And: the AI system should be fundamentally redesigned to make bot opponents more realistic; These will behave more strategy in the future.
Last but not least, there is also new content. At the end of the year there should also be a large world update in which existing cards are redesigned. Krafton wants to give the gamers new opportunities on the existing maps and old favorites instead of simply delivering a new map. In this context, "destructible terrain" is also introduced in Taego, Miramar and Erangel.
Incidentally, the arsenal is expanded by new vehicles and objects; For example, there will be a camouflage network to hide vehicles. The user interface of the Flare Guns and the match logs is updated and explodable gas tanks are to open a new tactical level. The content level is rounded off by an expansion of the arcade modes and collaborative content.
In order for the whole thing to be as fair as possible, Krafton wants to further strengthen the anti-cheat measures. New detection and defense technologies are being developed and implemented, and it is also considered to use protective functions of the Windows operating system to create additional security levels against malware. Machine learning models are also actively used in the fight against cheaters.
