New direct presentations from Nintendo usually make fans excited. There are usually fresh games, new hardware or at least hot indies. But the latest edition, scheduled for today, is likely to disappoint most fans.
After all, Nintendo is playing with open cards and confirms: The Nintendo Direct taking place today, November 11, 2024 at 11:00 p.m. German time is neither about video games nor about consoles. Instead, the focus is on an amusement park.
The fans among you will already know what it's about: Super Nintendo World is located in Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. This part of the park is all about the Japanese video game giant's games, with a particular focus on Mario. The amusement park has been extremely popular since it opened in March 2021. The same applies to the Hollywood spin-off.
It has been clear for some time that Super Nintendo World will be expanded. The star of the new area of the Japanese park will be Donkey Kong. It is precisely this monkey spectacle that is the focus of today's Nintendo Direct. In just under ten minutes, the company wants to introduce you to the part of the park that was actually supposed to open in spring 2024. However, the ceremonial start was postponed until today.
After all, Nintendo is playing with open cards when it comes to the Direct. However, it would be nice to finally find out solid information about the Nintendo Switch 2. So far we only know that the console is currently being built and will be backwards compatible with the first Switch. It's nice, but also a bit thin. In the last few weeks, the company surprised people with...and a music app.
