Nintendo has confirmed the appointment for pre -orders in the USA - and confirms that there will be no price increase.
The customs policy of US President Donald Trump has turned the global economy upside down and also caused plenty of hustle and bustle in the context of the Switch 2. When Nintendo officially announced the new console, the appointment for pre -orders in the USA and pricing was already fixed - then the tariffs came.
As a result, Nintendo suspended the pre -order start and justified that the market situation in the United States had to first explore with regard to the new tariffs. But now there is clarity for US prospective customers.
The pre -order start, originally intended for April 9, is now scheduled for April 24, 2025 in the new week. The most important message in this context is probably different: despite the tariffs, the price of the Switch 2 remains unchanged.
In the United States, the Switch 2 consequently comes on the market for $ 449.99 or $ 499.99 including Mario Kart World. The games also remain at the communicated price level, which means Mario Kart World is separately for $ 79.99, Donkey Kong Bananza for $ 69.99. In the end, Nintendo did not react to Trump's tariffs or criticism from the community that prices were too high anyway.
There was a reaction due to the "changed market conditions": Accessories for the Switch 2 were adjusted in the price. Here the new prices are now reading as follows:
