News - Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller: Battery life unchanged, but there is an improvement

Nintendo has released the technical specifications for the Pro Controller of the Switch 2. The battery life remains largely unchanged, but there are improvements.

For the new Nintendo Switch 2, too, there is of course again a pro controller for more tough gamers. The specifications of this accessory have now made the Japanese public and also left details about the controller's battery life.

First conclusion: The new Pro Controller for the Switch 2 basically has the same battery life as the model for the original Switch. Accordingly, the fully charged controller should be able to play for around 40 hours before it has to go back to the power cable.

So while there is no improvement here at first, the whole thing looks much different with the charging speed. There are noticeable optimizations here, so that the new Pro Controller is completely loaded in around 3.5 hours. For comparison: The Pro Controller for the first switch had to go to the cable for 6 hours to be recharged.

Despite the constant term overall, the storage capacity of the battery itself is lower. Instead of 1300 mAh, it now only brings it to 1070 mAh in the new Pro Controller. The peripheral device for the Switch 2 works more efficiently with a constant 40 hours.

In addition, there are other innovations such as the GL/GR buttons on the back and of course the brand new C button, which enables access to the Gamechat feature. And: The Switch 2 Pro Controller relies on the further development HD Rumble 2. In addition, the weight with 235 grams is around 10 grams lighter than the predecessor.
