Wild weeks are behind us. Capcom celebrated huge sales success, faced technical disasters and continued to deliver content. Nevertheless, the fans were not satisfied with Monster Hunter Wilds. It is too easy, too short, offer too little content, choose something. But is there really something about the criticism or does a very loud minority only manage to press the mood again?
After the credits, the hunt really starts and everything before the expansion is considered an extended tutorial-these wisdom has existed in the Monster Hunter community since the beginning of the time. No wonder with a row that grind sees as one of its core elements. AlsoOf course, there is no exception, but clearly straightens the path to the final game.
But that's not the point here, with the second part of my test, I tell you how much long -term motivation is really in Capcom's insanically successful role -playing game. If you are interested in getting started, I recommend my article to you, whichfocuses on.
Endgame grind and meta weapons
The first hardened monsters are still in your way within the main story and are currently also the strongest opponents of the game - with one exception that I will come later. Ultimately, they are particularly hard (Pun absolutely intended) versions of well -known beasts that drop special parts in different quality classes, depending on the monster. From this in turn you manufacture the artian weapons.
In most cases, these are the strongest variants that are currently available in Monster Hunter Wilds. Not only do they offer three step-3 slots for decorations at the highest level, you also determine the element yourself and whether you drive a lot of affinity or attack. To do this, you up to five times with special resources, which accidentally offers one of four bonuses per stage: sharpness, attack, affinity or element.
So here your lucky fairy is asked so that you can also get the desired effects. In addition, the farming of the hardened monster parts takes some time, which is the serial -typical grind. The system offers advantages as well as disadvantages.
On the one hand, it allows more variety, because you get the required parts from different monsters. So you don't necessarily have to beat up the same beast over and over again and also collect parts for armor or specific weapons directly. More variance in hunting for the best equipment is always located and significantly minimizes the signs of fatigue.
Probably the largest crux of the system may not be clear, but immediately apparent. Because it makes life extremely difficult. With a few exceptions, the Artian weapons are the strongest variants, which is why they are forced to tie their green appearance with orange glowing elements if you want to tinker with the most powerful build.
Load-outs look very the same for every weapon, at least if you strive for a coherent outfit. That doesn't really sound dramatic, but believe me: Capcom really doesn't want to get lost with the fashion hunger. Therefore, the next patches will probably also come with the next patches, through which you can equip every design without losing the effects or values-as is the case with the armor.
An essential title update
Monster Hunter Wilds painfully missed some core elements of the series at Release. For example, the meeting place, in which all players meet a lobby for arm pressing, prepare quests together and let themselves be spoiled by the mia -consuming chefs. Due to the big cities, in which all online characters are already frolicking, this special place became superfluous-but Capcom did not prevent them from delivering the large site with the first free title update.
This offers you all the activities mentioned above. To do this, you will find hidden behind a waterfall a cute cube that gives you with found items. In the case of barrel bowling, on the other hand, your huge bombs hurl down changing course in order to achieve the highest possible score. As a reward, resources such as armor balls are rewarding.
The true highlight in the big cities mark the sporadically occurring concerts of the diva. If you are lucky, she smells a song at night, which provides you with small Stat boosts, but much more important: her performance sounds damn good and Capcom also stages it. Lingering in front of the stage with other hunters and enjoying the performance is exactly the small, contemplative break between quests, which I didn't know beforehand.
Incidentally, there is something else to do than farm just hardened monsters. The arena quests celebrate a brilliant comeback and often request everything. You enter them either with predefined sets or your own builds, the challenge is of course primarily in the stimulus of the unknown. Through particularly good times you secure a place on the leaderboard, which strengthens the competitive thoughts and theoretically also ensures long -term motivation.
The weekly event quests provide you with armor balls, artian materials, especially many points for your hunter rank or funny headgear. Ultimately, I only combat particularly strong, small, large or otherwise strange versions of well -known beasts - but they make sure that I stay on the ball and at least look in what new is available every few days.
Capcom is also not stingy on new monsters either, with the first title update, the water-leviathan Müzutsun once again found its way into play and even has a fiery surprise: fire bubbles! If the game is still too easy for you, you can also look forward to the return of the combat -hardened versions. Rey Dau made the beginning of these at the end of April and I am sure that it will strike violently.
Until then, you can bite your teeth on an old acquaintance. Do you remember the exception I mentioned at the beginning? This one monster that is even stronger than his hardened colleagues? By that I mean none other than Zoh Shia, the final boss of the low rank. Its high -ranking version regularly appears as a special quest on your card and has a few nasty tricks in her luggage. Without spoiling the struggle too much, I let me describe his difficulty like this: Out of ten emergency signals to which I react and hurry to help, eight fail because the fellow players are mercilessly merciless.

... you are looking for an action role-playing game with gripping fights that will receive new content for months.

… Grinding drives you fleeing and scare you a steep learning curve and confuse menus.
Conclusion
Finally Monster Hunter Wilds feels completely
Already in my preliminary conclusion I was enthusiastic about Monster Hunter Wilds, even if the finishing touches were still missing in some corners and the long -term motivation of the final gam was not foreseeable. But Capcom kept word and delivered a fat first update, there are also event quests and other content at regular intervals. What other studios cheekily asked for money for, you get valuable features completely free of charge. The competition is welcome to cut off several slices.
My game time counter is already over 130 hours and I am still one of the rookies in my hunting group. In the end, however, I'm far from being. At the moment it is about set optimization, new decorations want to be found and Zoh Shia did not come to my shotgun often enough. I have not yet dedicated every weapon to the necessary attention, crowns are also missing a couple and my high score in barrel bowling is currently only a maximum of mediocrity. I don't craft the glasses for Alma, but apparently Capcom was important enough for this new feature to even consider it with its own quest.
If I look into the future, my heart also hops for joy. The fight-hardened monsters promise crisp challenges, and the first crossover events have already been touched in which equipment objects from other Capcom brands find their way in Monster Hunter Wilds. The second title update finally follows in summer. If I rub a little on my crystal ball, I ultimately even see a large extension in the style of Iceborne or Sunbreak-at the latest with the master rank, all those who complain about a lack of challenge should also find their peace.
