The new part of the Open World action series Mafia apparently has a specific publication date. This has not yet been officially communicated, but has now been leaked on Steam.
With Mafia: The Old Country, the renowned open-world action series, which also sees itself as an alternative and competition with Grand Theft Auto, continues. To date, the year 2025 has been given for the planned publication, and there has been no more concrete release date from the official side. Perhaps this is no longer necessary with the exception of the clumsy confirmation, because the release date on Steam has now presumably leaked.
A new blog entry was published on the popular PC platform, which apparently incorrectly already called Mafia's concrete release date: The Old Country. Accordingly, the latest mafia and action epic appears in summer on August 8, 2025.
Officially clarity should prevail in a few weeks, because the blog entry is actually about the announcement of a larger developer livestream as part of the PAX on May 8, 2025. There, it should be about the past, the present and the future of the franchise, which is now 23 years old. The chance is therefore high that the release date will also be officially communicated in the course of this event.
At the end of the post, however, it was already (accidentally) read: "Mafia: The Old Country is Available August 8, 2025. Per-order Now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, and Stay Tuned to the Official Mafia website for more information."
In Mafia: The Old Country you will be able to find out the origins of organized crime in Sicily. In this respect, it will go back to the time in the early 1900s, when a brutal and intrigant open game world awaits you. Hangar 13 is again responsible for the development, which already worked on Mafia III and Mafia: Definitive Edition and Topspin 2K25.
