The fact that Microsoft Game Studios manages the exclusivity of the Xbox games is indeed good news for Playstation owners, who are now also enjoying some very good games. One of them is undoubtedly Indiana Jones and the large circle of Machine Games, the creators of Wolfenstein. The game surprised at the end of last year with a lot of indy flair and good technical implementation. More than four million copies have now passed over the counter (more or less because of a game pass) and with the release of the PS5 version, it should be much more.
We briefly summarize what is Indiana Jones and the big circle. The action takes place in 1937, ie between the films "Hunter of the Lost Treasure" and "Indiana Jones and the last crusade", whereby the intro is a nice tribute to the first film and immediately gives the right feeling. Indy works again in Marshal College. When it is broken down there, Indy comes across a secret, the so -called large circle, which the Nazis also want to get into their hands.
The hunt for this mystery leads the archaeologist from the Vatican to Giza and the Himalaya to Siam to iconic locations that were implemented with a lot of flair. The game combines classic elements such as puzzles, fights and explorations with new mechanics such as the use of disguises. In the fights, the game mainly relies on attacks and melee fights with fists and whip from the first person perspective, firearms are rarely used.
The half -open areas are quite extensive, but do not slain you with content, but reveal your secrets well -dosed and without tiring before going into the next sections. In addition, there are many optional items to discover and an upgrade system ensures that Indys can gradually improve. All of this is not too difficult and is a lot of fun, especially if you can flabbore nazis and fascists with a frying pan, brooms and everything that is currently tangible.
The staging is ready to film that the makers of the last two Indy films have to pale with envy. Action, staging and cutscenes move at an incredibly high level and contain all elements that can be expected from an Indy adventure, from clever dialogues to crispy puzzles to sometimes insane, self-ironic action, many allusions to the films and exactly the humor that has made us so sympathetic to Indiana Jones.
If you want to go into a little more detail, it will be ours at the timerecommended. At this point we don't want to go into too much detail again. In terms of content and play, all versions are identical.
Above all, however, that Machine Games showed the game very impressively without neglecting the performance. Indiana Jones and the large circle already ran impressively smoothly on PC and Xbox and has received some patches since then, recently a few days ago one that even brought some new skills for Indy into play, paired with some bug fixes and improvements in playability. So PS5 players enjoy the now very well revised version.
Of course, this also brings with it some extras. The support for the dualense controller including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback was well integrated. The Lightbar on the controller even shows the game status, for example by glowing red when Indy is injured and has to be healed. Raytracing with global illumination is now supported on both PS5 consoles, as is 3D audio. Last but not least, you can experience Indy on the PS5 Pro in a native 4K. On the Xbox series X it was still 1800p with dynamic adaptation. In short: it looks great and also plays like this.

… You want to experience an adventure that Indiana Jones and the films do justice to all respects and that Assassin's Creed also offers an extremely entertaining mix of Tomb Raider, Dishonored and to certain parts.

... you love a lot.
Conclusion
Also on the PS5 a pleasure for indy and action adventure fans
I am glad that Microsoft has decided to bring Indiana Jones and the large circle to the Sony console, otherwise PS5 owners would miss one of the best titles of the past game year. Machine Games's Indy adventure is visually, technically and also playfully at a high level of entertainment and hits the flair of the first Indy films perfectly. The story is entertaining, but it is above all the staging that also keeps you in the bar. The cutscenes are cinema, the action is sometimes so turned that you can only smile, the typical Indy humor drips out of the dialogues and the love of the developers to the heroes and villains is felt.
Also wonderfully the focus on fist fight and whip instead of balling, sneaking and dodging instead of run and gun, and also implemented well and satisfactorily, even if the AI does not always act particularly cleverly. The change between linear story passages and areas with relatively compact and manageable but completely open areas such as Vatican, Giza and Siam succeeds almost perfectly, so that none of the elements is overused. The open-world elements such as exploration and collecting objects are almost perfectly dosed, rather short and crisp and also worthwhile for the development of your Indys.
Anyone who has a PS5 at home and even the smallest heart for action adventures should not miss Indiana Jones and the large circle, especially since several patches have been incorporated since the PC and Xbox release. It looks great and a lot of fun - how much more can you ask for a game?
