Actually, Blizzard wanted to publish extensions for Diablo IV every year, but now there is now nothing. A second add-on after Vessel of Hatred is still in the works.
After the release of Diablo IV in 2023, Blizzard Entertainment published the first major expansion with Vessel of Hatred last year. This matched the intended plan to publish larger add-ons for the action role-playing game in the annual rhythm. So also means: Actually, the next add -on would have to appear in 2025 - but it is not that way!
As part of the Dice Summit in Las Vegas, Rod Fergusson, General Manager of the Diablo franchise, has now officially confirmed that it will be worked on a second add-on to Diablo IV, but this will no longer be published in 2025, but only in 2026 .
Before the start of Season 8, a roadmap is to be published with which content can be expected for Diablo IV in 2025. According to Fergusson, the second expansion will not be included. "Our second add-on appears in 2026, but at least the players are disclosed," said Fergusson.
Also one reason: Vessel of Hatred had already missed the originally targeted release date and later appeared than planned. In the end, this also had an impact on further release planning for the upcoming add-ons.
