News - Assassin's Creed Shadows: Ubisoft's action game gets a prequel

Ubisoft's potential new action hit Assassin's Creed Shadows also gets a prequel - in a special way.

From March 20, 2025, the new Assassin's Creed Shadows for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will be available. If you want to deal deeper with the action located in feudal Japan, you will be able to do this in the form of a prequel that has now been announced.

This is not something another video game, but in this case a manga that has now been announced. According to the corresponding social media contribution, the good piece should be available, at least in Japan, on time for the game release. In local areas, however, we will have to be patient for longer, because here the publication is only planned for a later, not yet mentioned time.

Although the new video game focuses on two playable protagonists, only a female assassin can be seen on the cover of the manga. The description also suggests that this will not be the protagonist Naoe represented in the game, since this is not mentioned by name. Rather, it is only about "a young assassin candidate" that "fights the growing presence of the Templar Order in Japan".

In the first reports on the video game, there is also talk that Naoe has no knowledge of the assassins and the templers at the beginning of the game. Since the manga is a prequel that focuses on a female assassin, it can therefore not be a naoe.
