For ARK 2 there is finally a small update again, although this is more likely to be in a new DLC for its predecessor. Such has now been announced and should then be transferred to the sequel.
Studio Wildcard has finally commented on the expected survival sequel Ark 2 again. In the said update, the development team now assures that the production of the sequel is still "completely devoted to the production of the sequel. This is not a big throw now, but supporters of the franchise should be happy to hear something from the title again and know that everything seems to go a regulated course.
Reason: The last important news about ARK 2 was basically last in 2023. At that time, Studio Wildcard had to admit that the previously communicated and targeted release period could not be observed. ARK 2 was postponed to the end of 2024 - a time window that could also not be observed. And even a publication of early 2025 is far from being on the plan.
Because: The new update also brought news about the sometimes quite controversial new edition of the predecessor ARK: Survival Ascended. The title now receives a completely new add-on. This add-on is called "Lost Colony" and is the first brand new DLC for the remake, which has not previously existed for the original version.
"Lost Colony" should close the gap between the other add-ons "Extinction" and "Genesis" from 2018 and 2019-and, according to the lead developer, will be transferred directly to the world of Sequel Ark 2. In this respect, the new expansion acts as a link for all previous and future ARK content.
This DLC package is to be published in November 2025-The voice of Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh included. Before that, ARK 2 will not be expected.
