Remedy Entertainment has now finally recorded the costs of the development of Alan Wake 2 and has landed with the sequel in the profit zone.
Alan Wake 2 has been available since October 2023 - and the atmospheric sequel has also achieved excellent reviews. The sales figures were not bad, but so far it did not ensure that Remedy Entertainment had fully recorded the development costs. But that has changed now!
The developer has now presented new business figures and confirmed that Alan Wake 2 has now sold more than 2 million times. By reaching this sales destination, sufficient sales have now been recorded that the development costs of the ambitious title were refinanced. From now on, Remedy makes a profit with every further sale of the title.
The publication of the physical game edition, the update for the PS5 Pro and the DLC "The Lake House" ensured that the break-even point shortly before the year of 2024.
Remedy Entertainment is currently working on several projects, including a sequel to Control and the spin-off FBC: Firebreak.
