Developer Remedy Entertainment has confirmed the optimization of Alan Wake 2 for the PS5 Pro and announced details about the exact implementation. Accordingly, both the quality and performance modes of the game will be improved on the more powerful new console. The newly introduced AI-based upscaling PSSR is also used to improve the clarity of the images.
In quality mode, Alan Wake 2 on the PS5 Pro uses ray tracing; Corresponding reflections also find their way into the title, which continues to run at 30 fps. Although the display is in 4K resolution, the rendering is done with 2176 x 1224 pixels.
In performance mode, however, you can play Alan Wake 2 at 60 fps, which is now possible, although roughly the same rendering and image quality as on the standard PS5 is achieved in quality mode. This is a significant improvement, because on the normal PS5 the rendering and image quality to achieve the fps number is significantly lower.
Result in performance mode: The display here is also in 4K resolution, rendered at 1536 x 864. On the standard PS5, only 1440p image output is achieved in performance mode. And all this, although in general the image stability, fog and shadow accuracy and other graphic details can be improved!
