Generation Z would bring Steve Jobs to the palm: to get to work ten minutes late, is considered punctual for every second

  • Steve Jobs was born in 1955, so he is part of the generation of the so -calledBaby Boomer.
  • Young people who are currently starting their professional life or did it a few years ago are against itDigital Nativesfrom generation Z (born around 1997 to 2012).
  • A survey suggests that these generations think very differently about punctuality, like the magazinesFortunereported.

Before we take a closer look at the data, we would like to know how to judge the topic of punctuality.

So be happy to take part in the following survey. We look forward to every voice cast!

The details of the survey

  • The online meeting company Meeting Canary has asked over 1,000 British about punctuality.
  • People between the ages of 16 and 26, who belong to Generation Z (age of approx. 13 to 28), almost half stated that it is still on time if you are five to ten minutes late.
  • While millennials (age of approx. 29 to 44) can forgive such unpunctuality to 40 percent, it is only 26 percent of generation X (age of approx. 45 to 60) and 20 percent of the baby boomer (age of approx. 61 to 76), which also included Steve Jobs.

The makers of the survey provide a possible explanation, which is as follows:

Generation Z estimates and prioritizes the work-life balance and mental health before stress at the workplace-and this also includes hurrying in order to appear on time for a meeting. [...] While the work has blurred the limits of a good meeting label from home for the younger generations, older office workers still have an established, traditional view.

Accordingly, the results of the survey relate primarily to professional meetings.

As is rightly emphasized in the comments on this news, the weighting of punctuality is also very important about what kind of meeting it is.

Steve Jobs and the topic of punctuality

We recently raised that punctuality in the context of Steve Jobs was very important on Gamestar.de.

It was about a remarkable case in which he quickly gave his secretary a valuable car. You can find out more about this at the following link:

But even if this sounds positive here, the handling of Steve Jobs with his employees is not undisputed. This is shown, among other things, statements by the former Apple quality director Ron Givens, who told the anecdote discussed above.

In the same breath, Givens stated that many people were afraid of jobs without explaining it more precisely. In the magazineCIOIt means that he means that he isalso behaved immature as an adult: impatient, stubborn, exaggerated, critical and sometimes common.

The spirits differ on punctuality. For some, on us is just punctual enough, the others don't see it so tight. Glove to participate in the survey at the beginning of the article and tell us how you are on the subject.
