The release of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D resulted in a change at the throne of gaming CPUs. In a sense, AMD replaced itself and relegated itselfin Form des Ryzen 7 7800X3D als beste Gaming-CPU ab.
However, it was unclear whether the objective assessments would also be reflected in the sales figures and how the Ryzen 7 9800X3D would sell. The poor availability at many online retailers was an indication, but it could just as well have been a so-called »paper launch« can indicate.
For the first time since publication, there are now more concrete figures on the sales success of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D: The German online retailer Mindfactory is finally revealing the sales figures for the Zen 5 CPU. Until now, these were kept under wraps, while the values of all other processors could be monitored regularly.
- According to the official Ryzen 7 9800X3D product website, Mindfactory was able to sell the AMD CPU “over 8,650 times.”
- This means that the processor is almost single-handedly responsible for more than half of Zen 5 sales at the retailer, as all other Ryzen 9000 CPUs have sold around 5,100 times at Mindfactory.
The predecessor sold almost as well in the first week alone
Of course, the numbers are not necessarily representative of the market as a whole - but at least they are one of the few reliable indications, as hardly any other online shop discloses sales figures like this.
It is unclear why Mindfactory kept the sales figures under wraps and why transparency is now being restored. Strikingly, the dealerno longer from AMD as an official dealerled.

- Because the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, on the other hand, is almost sold out across Germany or is only available at horrendous scalper prices. Even at Mindfactory itself, pre-orders are still being processed despite the increased RRP. The list of observers is long: around 21,000 people interested in buying are said to have the CPU on their list.
