Dieand more and more improvements to the update are coming to the surface. Samsung is adding a battery feature to the latest version to potentially improve the battery life of its smartphones.
A charging limit can now be set in the settings:
- 80 percent
- 85 percent
- 90 percent
- 95 percent
This option is located in the usual battery settings next to the two options “Basic” and “Adaptive” (via Tarun Vats,X/Twitter). The latter initially charges the battery to 80 percent and the remaining 20 percent until you get up. This option is primarily tied to you and your daily routine.
More and more smartphone manufacturers are integrating a charging limit of 80 percent into their updates. But if you change your smartphone every one, two or three years anyway, you probably won't notice a significant reduction.
The option is interesting for anyone who wants to use their smartphone for as long as possible and without noticeably affecting the battery over the years. After all, Samsung offers updates for up to seven years.
One UI 7 Beta brings many changes
Since then. The biggest new features of the update are visual improvements to the interface, such as the Now Bar.
- This is a type of live activity bar that we know in a similar form from the iPhone.
- This bar should be your contact point for all important news in the future. In addition to the new control center, the home screen and lock screen are also being simplified and the associated widgets are being redesigned.
The camera app is also getting a new coat of paint and will be available with One UI 7enable more intuitive control.
Of course, the update does not come without new AI functions. This includes the Writing Assistant, which is intended to help with writing. A call transcript that converts calls into text is also planned, but initially only in the USA.
One UI 7 is scheduled to appear in early 2025, possibly alongside Samsung's Galaxy S25 series. The corresponding Unpacked Event is expected to take place on January 23rd. The launch of the latest Galaxy S smartphones will most likely take place just a few days later. As soon as more information leaks out, we will report on it.
