Let's just step into a lavagrube. 20 hours later it turns out: he never died. Instead, he is now marked by brands, has built up a bodyguard and worked up to the upper mot. If you see yourself the next time, he swears to take revenge on you.
An epic struggle full of contempt burns.Such history is possible in video games, however, this has only existed in the two murder games of the traditional development studio Monolith. Nobody else may use this feature, because the nemesis was patented by Warner Bros. in 2021.
Warner Bros. closed the studio four years later,. On February 26, Monolith, together with two other internal studios of the publisher, were closed. And the bad news: the patent will probably not expire too soon.
Over 10 years period
The patent for the NEMSIS system remainsAccording to the official patent page still exist until 2036. All eleven years in which nothing happens to the greatest fears and the patent remains useless for 15 years. So far, only two games have already picked up, namelyAnd the successor.
Two controversial games, but most people agree: the Nemesis system was awesome and would have been in good hands on many other games-but since 2021, no one except Warner-Bros.-studios.
Actually it would have been monolithwho wanted to fall back on the Nemesis system again with their next game. However, with the studio itself, its current project was alsoset. As a result, there is currently no longer a game in development that could make use of it.
Who could still use it?
Warner Bros. Games will of course develop games, and there will be some well -known studios in their ranks that could access the patent of her mother's company in theory. These include studios such as Rocksteady (Batman: Arkham City, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League), Netherrealm (Mortal-Kombat series), Avalanche (Hogwarts Legacy) or Travel's Tales (Lego Games).
There would definitely be potential here. At Rocksteady, Suicide Squad is still in the stars after the catastrophic release of Suicide Squad, when it comes to the team. But a new Batman game could benefit exactly as Wonder Woman would have done.
It is also known that avalanchesshould work. The role-playing game was extremely successful and we could very well imagine a rival system here. A Draco-Harry dynamics would certainly be very happy.
But it is probably not that Warner Bros. uses the Nemesis feature too soon. So it is only to be hoped for that in ten years a studio will feel inspired by a new game.
