The sandwusel is a nocturnal creature with light blue, bright fur, which makes it clearly recognizable in the dark. However, his shy nature and nimble art make capture a real challenge for every hunter. As soon as it senses the danger, it flashes away with lightning speed - even your mount cannot keep up.
Where can I find sandwusel?You can find the sandwusel in the wind level, especially in the areas 11 and 13, near the oasis. In order for it to appear, however, certain conditions must be met:
- Nighttime: Sandwusel only appear at night.
- Season of abundance: In Monster Hunter Wilds, the areas change between different ecological conditions. The vegetation blooms during the abundance and some rare creatures appear more common.
- Weather conditions: Dry weather seems to offer the best chance to find sandwusel in the oasis.
The biggest challenge is to find a sandwusel at all, since its appearance is not guaranteed even under perfect conditions. If you don't discover one, you can reset the zone by completely leaving and entering the wind level.
Catch the sandwusel successfully - step by step
Since the sandwusel does not have to be combated, but has to be trapped, your gun selection is not decisive. Nevertheless, there are some aids that make it easier for you to capture:
- Fangnetz: You should select the network before you start your search in the toolbar.
- Screaming capsule: Triggers a loud tone that briefly stunned the sandwusel and makes it unable to move. You can get screaming capsules from the flying baunos monsters that circle all over the desert with your hook slingshot.

- Travel to the oasis in the wind level (area 11 or 13).
