Quality instead of quantity. This is what Marvel wants to focus on in the coming years and for many MCU fans this should sound like music to the ears. After all, numerous new films and series after Endgame increasingly triggered a tired shrug of the shoulders instead of passionate enthusiasm.
That's why the studio, led by Kevin Feige, is officially putting the brakes on. Not as many new adventures are expected to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the foreseeable future, but they are finally convincing fans and critics again.
From 2026 there will be (a little) less Marvel
But what does that mean in practice?Marvel boss Kevin Feige has now provided the answer to this question at the D23 in Brazil (viaCollider). According to him, the current plan is as follows, which will come into force from 2026:
I think we are more or less returning to our normal state. In the past we had four new films and four new series every year. Now we will limit ourselves to two films and three TV series. [...]
But 2025 is bursting with new Marvel content
Obviously that won't be the case next year. Too many new projects have been in development for too long and will follow almost quickly over the next 12 months.Would you like a little overview?
- What If…? Staffel 3- from December 22, 2024 on Disney Plus
- Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man- from January 29, 2025 on Disney Plus
- Captain America: Brave New World- in cinemas from February 12, 2025
- Daredevil: Born Again- from March 4, 2025 on Disney Plus
- Thunderbolts- in cinemas from April 30, 2025
- Ironheart- from June 24, 2025 on Disney Plus

There you have it:In 2025, almost ten new films and TV series will be released on Disney's in-house streaming service or on the big screen.
According to Kevin Feige (and also Marvel's official release plans), it won't be a little more manageable until the following year. The following dates are currently known:
- Avengers: Doomsday- in cinemas from April 29, 2026
- Spider-Man 4- in cinemas from July 24, 2026
It remains to be seen what new Marvel series will debut in 2026. Projects like Vision Quest, for example, would be suitable for this.
