It's been available for over a month, but many fans are still waiting for a really big patch. But it should finally come now, on March 13, 2025. It is already clear that the update will be enormous. Because not only are bugs fixed, new content also comes into play..
Another feature concerns mods, who should finally be officially supported with Patch 1.2 - they appear a few minutes after the update has been released. You can then download mods from the Steam Workshop and no longer have to go through some deterrent installation processes.
Since the game is also changed fundamentally, could lose their effect quite a lot of mods. We asked the developers what Modder and Mod fans should pay attention to.
This has to be considered with mods
Kingdom Come 2 is with Patch 1.2. fundamentally revisedAnd of course that also affects the mods. It is almost inevitable that some adjustments are necessary, if not even individual mods temporarily refuse to serve. The developers themselves do not guarantee compatibility after the update.
So it is the responsibility of the Mod manufacturersto adapt your mods to the new game version and, in the best case, to take the step to the Steam Workshop directly. It is therefore advisable to uninstall some mods before you start with the new game version. This prevents her from preventing no technical problems.
Once the update is there, you can do it afterwardsBrowse the workshop for your modsAnd add them again. Or you can watch your mod page on nexusmods.com and read when the creators give the mode for the new game version.
These mods could still work
We asked one of the programmers at Warhorse which mods probably still work and which could have for the first problems after the patch. It came out that certain PTF mods could still run with a high probability even after the update:
Some mods that are from the community asPatched Table Files
-Mods (PTF short) are used to use a method in which e.g. B. a single characteristic of a single object is surgically changed.
These mods will most likely work without any problems after the patch. Mods that do not use this method (which does not work for everything - for example for animations), will almost certainly break down with the 1.2 patch, and should be uninstalled.
Many mods already contain a setting that you will automatically deactivate in every game version that is new than 1.1. PTF-Mods, which were created for 1.1, may also work under 1.2, but in general it is better to wait for confirmation from the creator that the mod is compatible with the new version.
So if you have installed a PTF-Mod, the chance is good that you can continue to use it. Exactly because these mods only adapt certain file parts and are therefore better compatible with new game versions and other mods. A few examples of PTF mods are:
Overall, there are currently significantly more conventional mods than PTF mods, but that should probably change over time and especially with the new modding tools. You can find out which mods we particularly like in our mod overview. We linked the article in the box above. As soon as the update has been released, we will also adapt everything to the new version here.
