Apple Intelligence now stands for all beta testers of iOS 18.4available for testing in the Developer Channel. The update brings a number of new functions in Germany. Unfortunately, there is still no trace of the new Siri.

iOS 18.4 so far without iPhone mirroring
Despite the two beta versions iOS 18.4 and MacOS 15.4, iPhone Mirroring is(German: iPhone synchronization) still not available in Germany. It remains to be seen whether Apple will deliver the function to mirror the smartphone on the Mac in future beta versions or for the official start in April.

With the "Playground" app, pictures can quickly, be created locally and simply. For this purpose, predefined input requests are used.
The function is introduced across the system and works with various applications such as notes, pages, freeform, keynotes and more. The app is automatically added to the start screen as soon as Apple Intelligence is activated in the settings.
Prioritize messages
With iOS 18.4, a new function is available for the iPhone, with which Apple Intelligence notifications can be used automatically. These are displayed in a separate area within the lock screen.
If you swipe up from the lower screen, the detailed view appears. There is also the possibility to group notifications.
Both options must be activated separately in the settings.
Writing tools
Apple's writing tools enable itto revise an existing text with the help of Apple Intelligence and convert it into a different writing style, such as "professional" or "relaxed".
This also includes the correction of the grammar, the choice of words and the sentence construction. Based on suggestions, the text can also be changed at a later date. A function for summarizing the text is also available.
More emojis with genemoji
Emojis fans get their money's worth with iOS 18.4. By entering a description, a unique emoji can be created on request. So -called "gene mogjis" can also be created from photos of contacts and sent to messages or as a sticker.
This function is available as soon as you switch to the emoji area of the keyboard.
Visual intelligence is coming
The camera control of the iPhone 16 is now finally more useful. Visual Intelligence is similar to Google Lens and Circle to Search.
- By pressing the camera button, information about a restaurant or a company can be called up, translated texts, summarized or even read out.
- The function also recognizes contact information such as telephone numbers or email addresses.
- After you have scanned objects with visual intelligence, you can search for similar objects in Google.
- A connection to Chatgpt is also possible to ask the Openai's language model about further information.
New photo functions with iOS 18.4
With iOS 18.4 we get access to Apple's »Clean Up« tool, the counterpart to Google's Magic Eraser. With the tool you can make objects or people disappear in the photo app in pictures as if from ghost hand.
By entering a description, the app creates a story or review with the right images. Optionally, a song from Apple Music can also be integrated. In addition, the app receives an improved search function with which pictures of a person can be found more easily.
The mail app is revised
Time-critical emails, invoices, newsletters or advertising emails are automatically divided into four categories in the mail app to find them faster. In addition to the mails, contact pictures or company logos of the sender are displayed on the left.
The revised app has been available in Germany for some time, but only if the system language has been converted in English. The integration of Apple Intelligence was also missing.
This changes with iOS 18.4.
In addition, emails can now be summarized, ready-made answers and the search function receives improvements from Apple's AI model.
By the way: With iPados 18.4, the iPad also benefits from the improved mail app.
Further innovations in iOS 18.4 Beta 1

- Ambient Music: For the lock screen, buttons for special ambient noise can be added, including sleep, chill, productivity and well -being. By tapping a category, a random selection of noises or music in this category is played.

- Siri votes: There are two new Australian voices.

- Emojis: Apple adds new emojis.
- Standard-Apps: In the EU it is now possible to set third-party apps for translation and navigate as standard.

Please note that compatibility problems with apps can occur with (larger) version jumps, including important apps such as banking. The iPhone itself can also be severely affected.
To take part in iOS 18.4 Beta 1, proceeds as follows:
- Register with your Apple ID on the beta support page of Apple. It is important that you are also logged in with the same Apple ID on the iPhone.
- Register on the page with the Apple ID.
- Now select the link "Register your iOS device" under "First steps". Then follow the guide to register the iPhone.
- Then open the settings on the iPhone and navigate to "General"> "Update software". Select the point "iOS 18.4 Developer Beta" under "Beta updates" (as soon as the beta update is available).
