With the Magic7 Pro, Honor sends his latest premium smartphone into the race. The combination of high-performance hardware, AI functions and the 200 megapixel camera is intended to make the device a heir to a throne. Can that succeed?
After all, Samsung has among other things with hisJust put a really strong competitor on the market. In addition, compared to the predecessor, the, little done at first glance.
I was able to test the Honor Magic7 Pro in detail for you. You can read how the cell phone does in everyday life.
Transparency note:Honor made the Magic7 Pro available to me free of charge for the test. The manufacturer had no influence on the content of the article and did not get any insight before the test was published. There was no obligation to report.

So I tested
I used the Honor Magic7 Pro for around a week in everyday life and tried to do as much on this device as possible. I cannot completely replace my main device (iPhone), since my communication is largely possible via iMessage and I also control different devices via Apple HomeKit.

Price and availability
The Honor Magic7 Pro is available "Lunar Shadow Gray", Schwarz and "Breeze Blue". Currently, the manufacturer in Germany only offers it with 512 gigabytes of storage space and 12 gigabytes of RAM. The recommended retail price is 1,299 euros, but for some dealers you get it up to 200 euros cheaper.
Scope of delivery
In the meantime, it is common for even top smartphones to get little accessories. The Honor Magic7 Pro is no different. There are only one in the packagingSIM-Eject-Toolas well as a 1 meter longUSB-C on-USB-C charging cable.
There are hardly any manufacturers who deliver their devices with a suitable power supply, but I would have liked it to the Magic7 Pro.
The reason: The new model supports even faster charging compared to the predecessor. Are over the charging cableUp to 100 wattspossible - only a few will have such a strong power supply. In case of doubt, you have to invest a good 40 euros again.
Alternatively, the Magic7 Pro can alsoWireless with up to 80 wattsbe charged. Corresponding Qi chargers with this service quickly cost 90 euros and more.
In contrast to theThere is no protective cover in the scope of delivery. Here I would also advise you to help you get one when buying to protect the device from falling and bumping.
OneProtective film is applied ex works, but a classic thin film. If you would like better protection, it would be advisable to buy a bullet glass film. In my case, the film from the manufacturer has many clearly visible scratches after a few days.
Design and workmanship
With regard to its size and weight, the Magic7 Pro fits seamlessly into the series of my most recent Android smartphones. Like the Nubia, Samsung orHMD Fusionoffers oneDisplay size of just under seven inches- 6.8 in this case.
Device road and weight are also almost identical in direct comparison. So is oneOne -hand operation also difficult with large hands. However, I find that the cell phone is still in good hands.
The housing frame is slightly rounded to the display and the back. This makes a big difference compared to "angular" models such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Despite its size, that willMagic7 Pro Such a flatterer.
The trademark of the Magic Pro series is thatLarge camera unitthat protrudes from the housing in the upper middle of the back.
If you use the smartphone without a protective cover, you will find something with your fingers, but you can also get to the lens relatively quickly and ensure unsightly fatty fat.
In terms of design, I find the model very chic. On the one hand, my test pattern in gray looks classy thanks to a marble. On the other hand, I like the integration of the rear camera, which almost seems to press out of the housing.
In the installed material, Honor puts onGlass (front and back) and aluminum. The "Nanocrystal Shield" is also used for display glass, which is supposed to protect against scratches, bumps and falls. So it is a counterpart to the well -known Gorilla Glass from Corning.
Apropos robust:The device is not only protected against water and dust according to IP68, but also has the IP69 certification, which protects against jet water and steam cleaning.
The use ofI see aluminum critically in the frame. In my opinion, the manufacturer should have used more robust stainless steel or titanium in this price segment. Aluminum is much more susceptible to scratches and notches.
Apart from that, there is no reason for criticism when processing, it is flawless. There are neither unsightly gaps nor sharp edges. The physical buttons are also tight in the housing and have no game.
Physical buttons and connections:
- The Magic7 Pro has a volume rocker on the right side of the frame and the on and off switch.
- On the top there is a loudspeaker and a microphone for noise suppression on phone calls. In addition, there is an infrared blaster here like the Nubia Z70 Ultra.
- The underside houses the USB-C connection, the SIM card compartment with space for two Nano SIM cards, the main microphone and the second loudspeaker.
Processor and memory
Honor sets the Magic7 Pro DenQualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elitea. The current top chipset is also used at the Nubia and the Galaxy S25-but here in a slightly higher "for Galaxy" variant.
Compared to the Magic6 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the new model is almost 45 percent faster and offers a 40 percent higher graphic performance. At the same time, the energy requirement drops.
So I test the performance
I test the performance of smartphones on the one hand with apps and play in everyday life. At the same time, I measure the CPU and overall performance with the benchmark apps "Geekbench 6" and "Antutu Benchmark" to create an objective comparability between smartphones.
Geekbench checks the single and multi-core performance of the device, Antutu the overall performance. In the end, both programs spend a score and also offer a ranking with many other devices on their website.
The difference in performance for Samsung's own CPU variant can be seen in the benchmark result of Geekbench. Here the Magic7 Pro does not quite close to the competitors in both single and multi-core.
Samsung achieved 10,137 points in the Single-Core 3.201, in the multi-core. Honor comes up3.186 and 9,863 points- honestly, the difference is very low and not noticeable in everyday life.
However, the comparison in the Benchmark from Antutu is surprising:The tool evaluates the overall performance of a smartphone and, among other things, compares the processor and storage speed.
Here the Magic7 Pro with 2,765,339 points achieves a slightly better result than the S25 Ultra (2,721,019 points). Honor possibly installed a somewhat brisk memory than Samsung.
The smartphone is available in different memory equipment and 12 and 16 gigabytes of RAM (RAM). Currently, however, only the variant with 512 and 12 gigabytes is available in Germany - this equipment also has my test device.
Important:The device memory cannot be expanded.
The Magic7 Pro delivers in everyday life:Programs or players open quickly, show low loading times and multitasking with several open apps is not a problem for the smartphone. As a rule, there are no delays, stipper and Co.
Even with performance -hungry games such as »" or "«The fee plays its strength-everything runs (also thanks to the 120 Hertz display)butter soft and at high level of detail.
The manufacturer apparently also thought of a good cooling system. When playing for longer or at the benchmarks, the device only gets warm from the outside, but not hot.
Display
In comparison to the Honor Magic6 Pro, there was hardly anything. The OLED screen is a bit flatter and thus enlarges thatDisplay-to-housing ratio from 89.9 to 91.6 percent. However, the built -in panels offer the same technical specifications.
In my view, that's okay, because the 6.8-inch display is great. It offers a good sharpness with 1,280 x 2,800 pixels (2K), so that no pixel stairs are recognizable. In addition, it reaches one in normal operationTop brightness of 1,600 nits, which makes it easy to read even in sunshine.
The local lace brightness, which is achieved, for example, when playing HDR content is even proud5.000 Nits. With this and thanks to the support for HDR Vivid and Dolby Vision, corresponding videos look really good.
Two things still on the display:
- The ultrasound fingerprint sensor is below the display and reacts at lightning speed, even when fingers.
- The front camera and tof sensor for face recognition are located in a pill-shaped recess. This makes the latter much more secure than the regular camera and cannot be knitted through a photo. At Face ID, Apple relies on a similar technology, but with Android devices this is a unique selling point and a big plus for Honor.
Battery life
The manufacturer uses the battery as well as Nubia or Realme for the new technologyWith silicon-carbon anodeInstead of lithium ions.
The advantage is that the batteriesWith the same size a higher energy densityhave. On the one hand, manufacturers can install larger batteries or alternatively equip the smartphones with slimmer housings.
There is a special feature of the battery size of the Magic7 Pro. While the global version of the cell phone has a battery with a capacity of 5,850 milliampers' hours, it is with theEuropean version only 5,270 milliampers' hours- significantly less. Even the predecessor model had a higher capacity with 5,600 milliampers' hours.
But at least the charging speed is not limited. Even if, among other things, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro supports charging with up to 125 watts, the Magic7 Pro with up to 100 watts still offers more than many other devices. Samsung, for example, limits the performance to 45 watts even with the S25 Ultra.
This means that an empty Magic7 Pro has returned to around 90 percent in half an hour. The wireless charging via Qi charger is also rapidly possible with up to 80 watts.
So I test the battery life
I use the Android software "PCMark" to carry out a battery mark and create comparability with other smartphones.
The app does everyday tasks such as web browsing, video playback, text processing and image processing until the fully charged battery falls below 20 percent. In the end, the program spends a period of time as an overall result.
Mandatory note:How long a cell phone battery lasts in everyday life depends primarily on the type of use. If the mobile phone is used a lot for mobile games, tictok or navigation during the day and the screen brightness is high, the device must of course be back to the charger faster.
The Benchmark result of PCMark 9 shows that the manufacturer did proper work. I measured 14:38 hours. That is good, if no best. The S25 Ultra recently came to over 18 hours, the cheap HMD fusion even over 26 hours.
The Magic7 Pro is at the level of the Galaxy S24 Ultra from last year. With a "normal" everyday use, the Honor cell phone should last for up to two days.
Camera
The predecessor already convinced my colleague Linh with his great camera setup. So like to take a look at his test report on the Magic 6 Pro, in which he takes a close look at it:
Review of the Honor Magic6 Pro
In a direct comparison between the two models, the manufacturer has only revised the camera system in detail. The zoom lens is new with triple optical zoom and a resolution of up to 200 megapixels.
The main camera, ultra -wake angle and front camera remain the same:
- Main camera: 50 megapixels, variable aperture with f/1.4 - f/2.0
- Ultraweitwinkelkamera: 50 megapixel, f/2.0
- Front camera: 50 megapixels, f/2.0
I therefore keep myself shorter with the camera system:
The front camera succeeds really good recordings in daylight and even in less light, as the following example shows:

There are significantly more details in better light, but the results in less light are still good. (Image: Gamestar Tech)
The 50-megapixel main camera with variable aperture deliversExcellent results in good and less good lighting conditions. It now also offers the "AI-optimized portrait" function, with the help of which portraits are to be improved afterwards.
An example here too:

The differences are particularly noticeable in the enlargement. The AI significantly sharpens the picture. The results are mixed, for example, hair is sometimes changed significantly, among other things. (Image: Gamestar Tech)
I myself wouldDo not use AI mode for portraitsAnd instead, the regular recordings classically rework. But that's a matter of taste.
The ultra -wake angle convinces me, as with it, as with the S25 Ultra, beautiful macro recordings.
The heart of the Magic7 Pro is the new oneZoom lens with 200 megapixelsResolution. Like the main camera, it has an optical image stabilization, with the help of which wikes are reduced.
Thanks to theOptical zooms (2x, 3x and 6x)The results at the respective levels also look really good.
Digital even a zoom is possible to 100 times, but in the end you get a pixel porridge. You should therefore only use the digital zoom with carefully or at the lower level-up to 12 times the results are still really neat.
Here are some sample shots with the various optics of the camera system:
In the case of evening recordings, there are still good photos when there are light sources in the picture, but the S25 Ultra convinced me a my more in this discipline.
If light sources are only removed in the picture, it becomes difficult even for modern smartphones. For such a comparison, I choose a location outside the village, where there are only small lights from wind turbines and passing cars.
Here is a comparison between the Honor Magic7 Pro and my iPhone 13 Pro. As you can see, the differences are not huge, but the Honor smartphone can achieve better results.

In the dark, the Magic7 Pro succeeds somewhat better pictures than the iPhone. (Image: Gamestar Tech)
As with the predecessor, the smartphone supports video recordings with up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. Here other models sometimes offer more FPS (frames per second) or 8k.
The camera app is exemplary solved. It offers various settings and modes, but is also easy to use for beginners via the standard mode »Photo«, which is limited to the essentials.
Conclusion on the camera:Even the Magic6 Pro was excellent in this discipline. The Magic7 Pro does the same, but now offers a better zoom look. If you like to take photos with your cell phone, you will receive a strong tool with this smartphone.
Natural, sharp recordings are created, especially in daylight. In low-light situations, however, I see the S25 ultra for hair width.
Loudspeaker
Wow:The Magic7 Pro is so loud that I do not withstand it at the highest level. However, there is no over -control even at maximum volume. In direct comparison to my iPhone it isIt sounded significantly fuller.
The Magic7 Pro offers more substance, especially in the bass area, which is particularly noticeable in music. So the cell phone is in my opinionBest for videos or podcastsSuitable on the domestic couch.
I could even imagine taking the smartphone for music or podcasts into the garden instead of carrying a small Bluetooth speaker around with me. It sounds really good for a cell phone.
Connectivity
In principle, everything you can find in this top smartphone can be found in the price range:
- WiFi 7
- Bluetooth 5.4 with APTX HD - a high -quality audio codec
- NFC
- USB-C 3.2 mit DisplayPort 1.2
- GPS, Glonass, BDS and Galileo
The device is tooDual-Sim-capable. You can use two SIM cards, either physically or as an ESIM variant. In theory, the Magic7 Pro also masters satellite communication. However, this technology can currently only be used in China, but not in Europe.
A special feature of the Magic7 Pro:Like the Nubia Z70 Ultra, it has an infrared blaster.
That can be usedSmartphone as a remote controlare used for devices that use this standard-especially televisions, receivers or DVD players. A corresponding remote control app has already been installed.
On the other hand, what the model lacks is ultra-line tape for faster data exchange between devices and for a precise location of Bluetooth trackers and Co.
Operating system and updates
The Magic7 Pro is delivered withAndroid 15together with the manufacturer's own surface Magicos 9.
What I immediately noticed:The manufacturer copied something at Apple. The pill-shaped recess for the front camera and TOF sensor is also as »Dynamic Island« used And indicates additional information, among other things that a YouTube video runs in the background.
Otherwise, the presentation of Magicos 9 on iOS, especially app management on several homescreen sites.
There are some preinstalled apps that not everyone needs, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Booking.com or Amazon Music. Overall, I count nine such apps, which can of course be uninstalled if necessary.
With regard to the update support, the manufacturer is properly positioned. It willFour large OS updates and five years of security patchespromised.
Samsung, however, offers again and provides its devices with updates (security and OS) for seven years. I mean: five OS updates would have been in the performance.
AI functions
More and more current cell phones are integrating an artificial intelligence that is supposed to help users in everyday life. Most recently, Samsung had a whole seriespublished.
In Magicos 9 there are also some useful functions, starting with a AI folder on the homescreen, which shows frequently used apps. In addition, for example, »Magic Portal«, To move pictures, text and more by drag-and-drop between apps.
Other functions include:
- Magical text:Extract text from images or interact with the text (message, call etc.).
- AI translate:Real -time translations in several languages.
- Smart Sensing:Leave the screen switched on, reduce the ring tone volume and more.
- Contactless gestures: Non-contact scrolling, screenshot and back navigation by gestures.
Of course, a AI objector who reliably does its job on the Magic7 Pro should not be missing. With it, objects or people can be removed from recordings.
An example:

Even if the difference is minimal: Honor replaces the person a little better and with less blurring than the S25 Ultra. (Image: Gamestar Tech)
However, I have to mention for the object radiator:The result depends heavily on the respective picture. Not everyone is better than Samsung. In the end, both cell phones work very well and at eye level.
Should you buy the Honor Magic7 Pro?
... the Magic7 Pro is worth it for you if ...
- ... looking for a cell phone with top performance and an excellent camera.
- ... you are looking for a high-end smartphone with great equipment, which also looks noble and gives you practical AI features.
Possible alternatives to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
: The Galaxy S25 Ultra is at eye level with the Magic7 Pro. It offers the advantage that it is supplied with updates longer, and the S PEN also has an input pencil - if something like this is important to you. The battery life is also a little longer.Schlickpunkt:The prices start at 1,449 euros (RRP).
: In my view, you can easily use the previous model. The smartphone is almost as well equipped and the bottom line is the faster processor and the better zoom look. The price is currently around 830 euros.
OnePlus 13: OnePlus has also recently brought a new flagship cell phone on the market, also with the Snapdragon 8 Elite and twelve Gigabyte RAM. In terms of performance, both cell phones are likely to be very similar. The price is currently just under 1,000 euros.
Even if Honor-like other manufacturers-has only improved the new Magic7 Pro compared to its predecessor in detail: it is a top device where I see little improvement potential at the present time. I was particularly impressed by the camera, especially compared to my iPhone 13 Pro now over three years old.
In addition, I also find the smartphone very successful, not least the marble look of the back. With a price of 1,300 euros (RRP), the device is not a bargain, but also one of the currently best premium cell phones.
