Whether you believe it or not: George RR Martin also wrote novels that have nothing to do with Game of Thrones. And the 76 -year -old author absolutely wants to see a very specific one of them over the big canvas:Fever dream(im Original:FEVRE DREAM
).
George RR Martin has in conversation withColliderreveal when he was asked about his current heart project. However, the writer also clarifies:Fiever dream should only be filmed if this happens under his own conditions.
Fiever dream film only with Martin's script!
Specifically, Martin is about using his own script for an adaptation of fever dream. He has already finished the script for a potential film adaptation and is currently looking for a director who wants to take care of this project:
If [fever dream] is filmed, I don't want another author who taps his own version together. I want my own version. I want a director who loves the material and at the same time is a great filmmaker.
In fact, three rather large directors have expressed their interest - and I love two of them. These are really, really great filmmakers and it would be a dream to work with them. [...]
Frust wegen House of the Dragon?
Fans of fans ofdo not surprise. The author criticized season 2 of the TV series, broken promises by the show runner and the approach of HBO when adapting his template.
A rather unusual train for Martin, which was otherwise rather diplomatic and willing to compromise in public. In season 2 by House of the Dragon, however, he made no secret of his personal frustration -.
Are you wondering what fever dream is all about? The horror novel takes place in the US state of Mississippi in 1857 and revolves around the experienced river boatman Abner March. When he stands in front of the economic ruin, the wealthy aristocrat Joshua York suddenly rushes to help.
With York's not inconsiderable financial means, March is able to have the fastest river ship built on the Mississippi. Too late, however, he realizes that York is actually a vampire and the ship called Fevre Dream wants to use to collect its fellow species.
It remains to be seen whether George RR Martin's Vampire story of 1982 was ever filmed. In addition to the song of ice and fire, fire and blood and the hedge knight novels, further projects by the author for the cinema or streaming services have already been adapted. For example Nightflyers and in the Lost Lands.
