After eight years in the beta, Battlestatote Games finally quits a specific plan forto: version 1.0 is due to appear in 2025. However, even more exciting for many of you should be that the tough extraction shooter finally finds its way on Steam.
Escape from Tarkov comes on Steam - but only after 1.0
As part of a live stream at the weekend, the development team burst the bomb:Tarkov leaves the beta in 2025.
And while the way is still paved with several updates, it is now clear that Steam will be part of the future of the game. The only catch: the publication should not happen at the same time as the 1.0 release.
But there is more: The spin-off escape from Tarkov: Arena is also released on Steam-even before the main game. An accurate date is also missing here.
Roadmap up to version 1.0
Before Tarkov switches to release mode, at least four larger updates await you:
- May:Performance optimizations and technical improvements
- June:Gameplay tweaks and audio improvements
- July:Revised gunshot noises
- August:Retwork of the Interchange Map and a big new event

An early 1.0 release in 2025 seems rather unlikely. An appointment from autumn should be more realistic - unless there is delays. And as we developers know battlestates, you shouldn't plan anything.
Also the PVE mode,, will find his way on Steam-but also only after the 1.0 launch.
It will be interesting to see how Tarkov can assert itself against the burgeoning competition. With Bungies Marathon, the next extraction heavyweight is already in the starting blocks. Until then, Tarkov remains available exclusively via the developer's website.
