Classic board game with a twist and I love it!
Maybe that's a bit of a pen & paper player in me too, butThis Monopoly is absolutely one of my current highlights.Don't get me wrong, I'm not averse to a round of standard Monopoly either, but let's be honest, in the long run it seems a bit boring and worn out. Butthe “Dungeons & Dragons” version of the gamebrings a breath of fresh air into the matter and significantly spices up the basic mechanics!
The general conditions remain the same: you choose from thepopular characters from the “Dungeons & Dragons” filmand places it on the lottery field. You can always move as far as the number you rolled allows you. The usual fields such as free parking or the prison field are also the same as you know them from other versions!
But now we finally get to themlots of small pen & paper elements,that excited me so much. Apart from the fact that the currency is not banknotes but gold coins, the regular buying of roads and building of houses is no longer necessary. The way it works here is that you have to pay the sum of the space you reached, after which you can turn over the location card.
Then you're spoiled for choice: Do you pay a second time to call the place your own, or do you roll the d20 and let fate decide for you?But be careful:As is typical in D&D, a one rolled is a blunder and you have to give gold to the bank! Of course, you will be rewarded with coins for a critical success - i.e. a 20!

Each figure represents oneD&D class such as bard, barbarian or sorcererand has unique special abilities that can be used tactically. For example, the sorcerer can use the portal mechanic to skip specific fields, while the bard can simply escape from prison.
