Arkham Horror uses the mechanics of deck building - the game is played by everyone building such a deck. The playing field consists of location cards, which you lay out exactly as required in the respective scenario.

The scenarios are listed chronologically andThe instructions accompany you step by step through the entire story.Most of the time there is evenexciting text passagesbefore and after each scenario, which introduce you to profound supporting characters, but also make the gruesome events seem even more real!
Each scenario or agenda - as it is called in the game - is structured differently, but the goal is almost always touncover as many clues as possible.Depending on the outcome of each round, different text passages and conversations from the supporting characters are available to you. Of course, you can also cheat and read the other conversations that you wouldn't actually have achieved in the game - but that reduces the replay value enormously!
You collect clues by researching certain placesand work your way through history bit by bit. But be careful! With each round you place another oneVerderbens Markeron the current agenda, which represents the progression of time and with it you come closer and closer to the terrible beings and cosmic horrors.
