WithIf the third and last pillar of the new Delta Force has now been released: the story campaign is to complete the package of Warfare multiplayer (almost a Battlefield light) and operational mode (quasi an escape from Tarkov Light).
And like the rest of the package, Black Hawk Down is contrary to all expectations and forecasts- The DLC is available for download without extra costs, but requires the installation of the main game.
But that shouldn't remain the only surprise. Because if you expect a real single player mode, Black Hawk Down will be bitterly disappointed.
What about the multiplayer test?
At the start of the Open Beta in December 2024 we have the- but do not yet give a defensive evaluation. The extraction mode has not yet been taken into account in our test procedure.
This is not the Iraq, this is much more complicated
Black Hawk Down tells the plot of Ridley Scott's film classic of the same name in seven chapters. Accordingly, the setting changes from the rather futuristic battlefields of the main game to the Mogadishu of 1993. Here is a short impression:
As in the template, a UN peace mission escalates and there is merciless battles between Somali militia officers and an association of Army Rangers and Delta Force. TheBack references to the filmare omnipresent: places and operations were partially replaced one to one, all cutscenes are precisely followed scenes.
In contrast to the originalFrom Novalogic, however, it remains with this one location: vehicle inserts in the Iraqi desert, sabotage missions in old Soviet bunkers or the arrest of Colombian drug barons like back then does not exist.
Colonel, they shoot on us
Instead, we fight our way through the dusty streets of the Somali capital and do a linear sequence of mission goals - Delta Force offers us generous freedom of movement from time to time, but is essentially coreas scratched as a CoD campaign.
This also applies to the season: After about three to four hours, Black Hawk Down is theoretically over again. Or would be over if we didn't have to bite into the grass very regularly and have to start again in the absence of checkpoints. And that often happens.
Because unlike in Call of Duty, are alreadytwo or three hits regardless of the caliber directly fatal. And this applies not only to the enemies that appear in hosts, but also to our character! In the absence of adjustable level of difficulty, every shooting change can also be our last.
This automatically forces us to do methodical and coordinated procedure. Together with the relatively low movement of movement, Black Hawk Down sometimes feels like a hardcore shooter and arouses memories of Six Days in Fallujah or Ready or Not.
Your delta boys should learn to play in a team!
But while these titles always provide us with AI colleagues when we play alone, we will be in Black Hawk Downinvoluntarily to the one-man army.
And then Black Hawk Down becomes an absolute agony: While we are desperately trying to ward off the absurd opponents, we are slowly but surely running out of ammunition and the bandage. Backing? Replenishment? Air support? Give companions? Everything failed.
Mercilessly storm opponents with AKS towards us, dozens of grenades strike around us and over radio the command reaches us to effectively protect the vehicle column out of four jeeps. We do this completely alone, because the AI soldiers of the Army are pure backdrop and are at most suitable as cannon food. They even stop at the door if a building is to be stormed.
Not only does the credibility of the setting fly directly out of the window, but also all the fun of play: After we had bitten our teeth for several hours on the first two missions, we switched to the co -op - because only for the is Black Hawk Down entirely obvious. If you want to be successful in the single player, you need nerves made of steel, reflexes like Shroud personally and should not even start with logic.
