In addition to chic armor and deadly blades, you can inalso discover different horses. Most of them are simply normal horses that have the highest slightly different fur patterns. But there is a big exception!
In an extremely well -hidden placeWait a truly mythological mount, which is called Namazu. It is a legendary horse that is in close connection to the water and makes a lot more impression than most other horses in the game - but also clearly comes from the world of legends and therefore only indirectly fits into historical Japan.

So you will find the legendary horse "Namazu"
Namazu is a legendary animal, but you can get it in the game very early. You only have to travel to Oumi for this, and this area does not offer a particularly high level cap. From level 18 you can be safe here.
The large lake in the middle is most formative for this region. Lake Biwa runs through the whole area and is the home of Namazu. If you want to find the horse, you have to dive into the water at a certain point and then stop your air for a long time.
Here is a short step-by-step instructions.
- Travel to Oumi and then swim to the central island. If you have been there, you can simply use the viewpoint or the hiding place on Okishima for the quick trip.
- Go to the west coast and look for a large ship on the bank, right next to a campfire. Attention, here a few bandits are lying around.
- Press the right mouse button or RT/R2 on the controller to search the surroundings. Look down, there should light up a golden symbol.
- Now jump into the water right next to the campfire and immediately dive down. Here you can now find a cave entrance. If you do not immediately use it, use the goal for orientation again and pay attention to your remaining air!
- Now you have to swim in the cave as quickly as possible. As soon as the tunnel widens, swim up, otherwise you will run out of air!
- Now dive down again and open the chest at the bottom. Here you get the legendary horse.

What kind of horse is that?
So far it seems to beThe only mythological horseto act that you can find in the game for free. Most of the other mount of this kind are only available for money in the Assassin's Creed Shadows shop.
Like all other horses, Namazu bringsno playful advantage. Horses are purely cosmetic objects in shadows that in no way influence your attributes. Namazu is the most extraordinary among all the (free) horses in Shadows.

The horse seems to be inspired by an old Japanese legend. The legend is about a mighty catfish who lives under water and the reason is that it can be stored in Japan. This legend was probably created in the region around Lake Biwa, where you can find the horse in the game. The horse not only bears the name of the catfish, it also has the same beards as the fish.
