Armor Wars doesn't have an easy time in the Marvel universe. Already announced as a TV series in 2020,Four years later, there's still not much happening in the adventure of Tony Stark's best friend James Rhodes.
In the end, not even the main actor Don Cheadle, aka War Machine, knewNow the screenwriter gives Yassir Lestera crucial update on the current status of the Marvel Project.
Armor Wars is still on the Marvel agenda
In an interview withMovieWebThe Marvel screenwriter didn't reveal much about the stage of development of his work, but at least he made one statement that gives hope:
»Everything is still under development.«
But Lester can't tell us any more and jokes about Disney's strict spoiler policy:
»One of the fun things about working for a mega-corporation like Marvel, which is owned by an even bigger mega-corporation like Disney, is that you can never talk about anything until it's out in the world. [...] I'm afraid they'll do something to my family while I'm on this Zoom call [and reveal too much]... I'm just kidding."
Disney is regularly in transition when it comes to its superheroes. This confirms another statement from Lester regarding the Marvel comrade Blade:
"Just like Blade [with Mahershala Ali] disappears and shows up the next day, Armor Wars is - a thing that happens every few months, then not, then again."
The project was scheduled for November 7, 2025. In addition, a total of five scripts have already been rejected.
What is Armor Wars about?
In his first solo adventure, James Rhodes aka War Machine must grapple with what happens when his late best friend Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) technology falls into the wrong hands.
That's all we currently know about one of Marvel's problem children. There has long been speculation that Armor Wars could come out in 2025.However, with the current production status, we probably can't expect a release next year.
Marvel has a lot to do right now, because in addition to individual solo films, the superheroes are also preparing for a joint adventure again.
Two Avengers parts, Doomsday and Secret Wars, are planned for 2025 and 2026, which are intended to usher in a new era after Captain America and Iron Man. Even Robert Downey Jr. returns - but as the villain Doctor Doom.
