iPhone 16: Cost of original Apple spare parts

Self-repair is not always recommended

The manufacturer also provides a tool set that can be purchased for a one-off price of 54.74 euros. However, you should carefully consider whether a repair is worth it for you.

The prices for the spare parts correspond to those that Apple itself charges to repair the same damage. The display for the iPhone 16 costs you 339 euros individually, but you also pay the same price at Apple for the exchange including spare parts and service.

However, the manufacturer only offers display repairs, back, battery and rear camera. Everything else falls under “other damage”. The service can be worthwhile if you want to replace a part that Apple does not offer for individual repair - such as replacing the speaker grille.

You can also get a little cheaper repairs yourself if you already have tools and also send the defective part back to Apple. For example, if you send in a broken iPhone 16 display, you will receive 16.95 euros as a credit for the return.

So repairing the iPhone 16 display would cost you a total of 322.05 euros if you use your own tools and we include the credit.

Anyone who has taken out AppleCare+ should definitely stay away from self-repair. With the service, all repairs will cost you significantly less. Replacing the display on the iPhone 16, which we chose as an example, would only cost you 29 instead of 339 euros with AppleCare+.

A notice:Are you having trouble accessing the repair store on your PC? The website currently causes problems in desktop operation, but in our test it worked without any problems on the iPhone and iPad.
