As usual, there are some compromises in the lower price range that you have to accept. This mainly refers to the components used:
Brake
In contrast to higher-quality models, the e-bike only offers mechanical rim brakes and no hydraulic disc brakes. You have some disadvantages compared to them, including:

Other characteristics

This mainly refers to the response, after all, the fork can be adapted to the driver's weight (spring tension).
- There is no resignation brake. You only brake over the brake levers on the handlebar using the mechanical rim brakes.
- The E-bike offers a sliding aid, in which the engine supports you when pushing. This is particularly useful for the high weight.
Price-performance ratio and alternatives
The manufacturer Fischer's recommended retail price (RRP) lies with this modelAt a proud 1,749 euros. In my opinion, this price is covered, because you get significantly better e-bikes.
At 777 euros, however, I have to say that what is offered is good - especially since Media Markt, for example, is currently still asking for over 1,200 euros for this model.
The Bafang mid-engine convinces me with his performance at the Fischer e-bike. I also feel the battery capacity with 522 watt hours.
Other e-bikes in this price segment often offer less capacity and usually not a medium engine.
In my view, a clear minus point is the mechanical rim brake. However, it is quite common in this price segment.
Even more expensive alternatives in the Aldi online shop sometimes offer a poor price-performance ratio, especially with regard to the engine and battery.
Aldi offers, for example, for 799 eurosDiscoverer 1.3from prophete. This offers the better hydraulic disc brakes. However, there is a weaker rear wheel engine and a smaller battery.
Finding a much better alternative at a similar price is difficult.
If you still have some budget, I would recommend the following model:

In my opinion, the City-E-Bike from Fischer is suitable for small trips-in the allotment garden, for shopping or for a small tour at the weekend.
If you only drive short distances and sometimes not daily, this inexpensive model should also be sufficient for you.
However, I see the e-bike more in regions that are flat or slightly hilly, but not very mountainous. On steep descents, I would personally prefer hydraulic disc brakes, especially if you are traveling in the rain.
