In Zack Snyder's 300, all sorts of body parts fly across the screen in slow motion and apparently the filming process wasn't particularly squeamish. That tells meGerard Butlerat least the Leonidas actor himself, who looks back on the 19-year-old fantasy epic in a new interview.

When shooting 300, sparks flew

According to Butler, I had tosomeone is taken to the hospital every day, like him oppositePeopleallows to see through. The interview is actually about his latest filmCriminal Squad 2with O'Shea Jackson Jr. in the lead role, but he also looks back on the comic adaptation from 2007:

I remember clearly that someone had to go to the hospital every day. You've been arguing, then you turn around and there's a guy behind you who's taken a spear in the eye.

Then I look around again and there's a guy who just fell and broke his ankle - it was really crazy!

By the way: Currently is actuallya new TV series in the universe of 300in development. Warner Bros. may even let it happen. However, there are no details about the plot, cast or release at the moment.

The film 300 was a huge success in 2006:With a budget of 65 million US dollars, the big screen film managed to gross over 450 million worldwide (viaBox Office Mojo). The pre/sequel 300: Rise of an Empire followed in 2014, but did much worse with viewers, critics and at the box office.

A career with manybackbeat

Back to Gerard Butler:According to his own statement, the worst injury of his career was not during the filming of 300. This only happened in 2012, when the now 55-year-old was during production of the surfer dramaMavericksalmost drowned:

[I was] overcome by a huge wave. I thought that was it. They had to pull me [out of the water], take me to the hospital [...] and resort to a defibrillator. That was really close.

When filmingPlay with fearButler had previously gone through a similarly unpleasant experience: Butler injured his neck during a car stunt with Pierce Brosnan behind the wheel:

We crashed into a one meter high wall on a roof with a Range Rover at full throttle. That destroyed my neck, that was after 300 and I was already so exhausted because of 300.

Despite all his injuries and scars, Gerard Butler's conclusion about his career is:I wouldn't do any of it differently.
